Does Veiled Nightmare effect the energy gained by Auspicious Incantation?

The fact that Veiled Nightmare tacks on an extra 40% to any skill activated, it would be my assumption that because the skill costs more to use, Auspicious would give me more energy in return.

Or, is Auspicious' calculations based on the set cost of the skill?

Veiled Nightmare states,

But Auspicious doesn't effect the cost of a skill, I just get that x amount of energy back after it's done casting.
